You can't think your way out of where you are.
You need better questions.
A self-directed clarity framework for solo dads who are functional but don't know what they're actually building toward.

This is for you if:
You became a solo parent through loss, illness, or sudden separation. And you didn't choose it.
The immediate crisis has settled, but the deeper question hasn't: what am I actually working toward?
You've read the parenting articles. You've done the "self-care." None of it addresses the real problem.
You want clarity, not comfort. A framework, not a pep talk.
The quiet problem nobody talks about
You're not in survival mode anymore. That's the thing nobody tells you. The early chaos settles. The kids stabilise. The routine takes hold.
And then, in the quiet, the harder question shows up.
What is all of this for?
You can't Google your way to that answer. You can't read enough parenting blogs. This isn't a productivity problem or a mental health problem, though it can look like both. It's a direction problem. And direction problems need direction tools.
The Rebuild is that tool.
What's inside
The Direction Framework
A structured process for defining what "direction" actually means for your specific situation. Not a generic goal-setting template. Built from the questions I worked through when I was in the same place.
The Core Questions
The seven questions that cut through the noise. Not inspirational prompts. Hard questions that force real answers. About identity, about what you've lost, and about what you want to build.
- 01 The Audit
- 02 The Pull
- 03 The Anti
- 04 The Vehicle
- 05 The Tuesday
- 06 The Gap
- 07 The Engine
Why I built this
I became a solo dad overnight. Not by choice. I won't go into the details here. They're on the About page. The short version is that my life changed in a single phone call, and I spent the next eighteen months doing what needed to be done without any real sense of what I was working toward.
I was doing the things. Breathing. Cold exposure. Exercise. Journaling. They helped. I stayed regulated. I stayed functional. But none of them answered the question underneath it all: I didn't know who I was becoming, and I had no framework for figuring that out.
The questions in The Rebuild are the ones I eventually found. They came slowly, over months. I'm giving them to you in an afternoon.
This isn't therapy. It's not coaching. It's a dad who's been where you are and found a way through. That's the only credential that matters here.

The real objection
You may be thinking: I've tried this before. I've journaled. I've reflected. Nothing changed.
The difference is that The Rebuild doesn't end with reflection.
It ends with one sentence:
"Tomorrow, I'm going to _______."
If you can answer that honestly, you've already broken the paralysis.
A simple promise
If you work through The Rebuild honestly, you'll leave closer to answering "What am I doing next?" than you are today.
And you'll have one action you're taking tomorrow to prove it.
One question answered is worth more than this. This is built to answer several.
